In a bylined article published in Louisville Business First, Emily Litzinger discusses how the COVID-19 pandemic has been particularly hard on women and especially working mothers. In fact, she points out that, due in large part to the challenges of the pandemic, “nearly 2.5 million women have left the workforce in the last year which essentially erased decades of progress with numbers of women in the workplace dropping to levels not seen since 1988.” Emily’s article goes on to provide employers with efforts they can implement to recruit, retain and nurture women in order to help curb the long-term damage the pandemic has had on gender equality in the workplace.
