New Jersey based regional managing partner Rosemary Gousman was quoted in an article on NJBIZ.com entitled “Gender-Equity Notice Requirement Now On The Books.”
On January 6, a law went into effect requiring all employers in New Jersey with 50 or more workers to display a visible notification in the workplace that details an employee's right under state and federal laws to fair compensation and benefits regardless of gender.
Rosemary said that the new law could be a game-changer. The law states that companies will have until Feb. 5, or 30 days following the issuance of the notice, to comply.
While measures against gender discrimination in the workplace, have been on the books in New Jersey for years, Rosemary said that never before has it been displayed so prominently or required an acknowledgement of receipt.
