Former OSHA Chief Presents Program for Columbus Employers Covering Workplace Safety Changes

ATLANTA, GA (October 13, 2009) - Former Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health Ed Foulke will speak to Columbus area employers November 13 on changes at OSHA that will impact the workplace. Foulke chairs the Workplace Safety & Catastrophe Management Practice. He and law partner Joseph Shelton will present "There's a New Sheriff in Town! Be Prepared for Sweeping Workplace Safety Changes."

Foulke, who ran OSHA under President George W. Bush, said: "OSHA should not be off any employer's radar screen. OSHA is stepping up enforcement and employers can expect more changes as the government shifts away from an emphasis on cooperative efforts with employers to a more aggressive enforcement approach."

Foulke added, "We're trying to help employers understand the essential elements of OSHA compliance and how to establish and maintain effective workplace safety and health programs."

Foulke and Shelton will speak at the Cunningham Conference Center at Columbus State University on November 13. The program runs from 9:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. The program is sponsored by Strategic HR Partners.
