Fisher Phillips Welcomes Former Virginia Occupational Safety and Health Attorney in Charlotte

Fisher Phillips, an international labor and employment law firm representing employers, is pleased to announce that Alex West has joined the firm as Of Counsel in Charlotte. As a former Virginia Occupational Safety and Health attorney, he expands the firm’s Workplace Safety and Catastrophe Management practice group on the East Coast.
Alex most recently practiced at a regional law firm, where he represented employers in workplace and occupational safety and health matters. He has significant experience defending employers facing occupational safety and health inspections, including attending informal conferences, drafting position statements for settlement, conducting on-site evaluations of worksites, and counseling on contest of strategy. Prior to private practice, Alex served as a Litigation Manager for the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry, and as an Assistant Attorney General with the Office of the Attorney General in Richmond.
In addition to his Workplace Safety practice, Alex is well-versed in handling state and federal civil litigation, from general district and circuit courts to successful appeals up to the Court of Appeals and Supreme Court of Virginia. Alex brings years of experience navigating complex litigation for clients facing inspections by the Virginia Occupational Safety and Health Division of the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry, and the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
Alex earned his J.D. from William & Mary School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Virginia.
