Fisher Phillips Expands Texas Presence with New Office in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, TX (March 11, 2013) - Fisher Phillips has opened its third Texas office with the addition of San Antonio. The office opened March 11, 2013. Stephen J. Roppolo, will serve as managing partner for the San Antonio office, in addition to his duties as managing partner for the firm’s Houston office. Houston partner Joseph W. Gagnon will also work in both San Antonio and Houston.
Firm Chairman and Managing Partner Roger Quillen said: “Our clients have been eager for us to add this office and we’re very pleased to accommodate their needs. Development of new offices such as this is part of our commitment to providing stellar client service wherever our major clients are located.”
Roppolo added: “This office greatly increases our firm’s presence in Texas. We will now have attorneys closer to some important clients that operate in and around San Antonio.” Roppolo pointed out that the firm plans to grow the office as quickly as possible and that Fisher Phillips is actively seeking attorneys for the office. Roppolo has led the Houston office since its opening in 2007. He has been representing employers in litigating all types of employment claims for 23 years, including allegations of sexual harassment, discrimination, defamation, breach of employment contract and other matters. He has also successfully represented employers in enforcing non-compete agreements. Roppolo counsels large and small companies regarding employment matters, conducts training for managers, and advises on company policies to help employers avoid litigation.
Gagnon has been representing employers for almost 20 years in litigation and arbitration in every region of Texas. He has defended companies against a wide variety of discrimination and discharge claims brought under Title VII, ADA, FMLA and whistleblower statutes. He also represents several Texas-based companies that are non-subscribers to the state workers' compensation system against claims of negligence and associated benefits claims filed under ERISA.
Alaniz’s practice involves representing management in all aspects of labor and employment law, including union organizing and certification campaigns, collective bargaining negotiations, defending companies against charges of unfair labor practices, and the litigation of discrimination, retaliation, wrongful discharge, breach of contract and other employment-related claims. Alaniz has experience in dealing with employment-related immigration matters and is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is active in the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Hispanic Bar Association.
