Fisher Phillips Continues to Grow Sacramento Office with Addition of Benjamin Ebbink as Of Counsel

SACRAMENTO (Jan. 17, 2017) – Fisher Phillips, a national labor and employment law firm representing employers, is pleased to announce the addition of Benjamin M. Ebbink as Of Counsel in Sacramento.
With nearly two decades of experience in labor and employment law and in assisting the development of California labor law regulations, Ebbink will focus on legislation introduced at the state and local level. He will assist employers with navigating evolving legislative and regulatory landscapes in a variety of areas including workplace discrimination, employee privacy, wage and hour, employee compensation, trade secrets, employment contracts and terms, unionization, healthcare, immigration, employee leave, workers’ compensation, workplace safety and affirmative action.

Ebbink's legislative experience and deep connections in the stakeholder community will allow him to provide services to current clients and open up opportunities to serve new clients that may have legislative or regulatory issues that would benefit from his unparalleled experience and strategic guidance. Previously, Ebbink served as a chief consultant to the California State Assembly Committee on Labor and Employment, where he analyzed bills relating to labor and employment and drafted and prepared legislation for hearings. Ebbink began his legal career as an associate with Beeson, Tayer & Bodine, focusing on federal and state labor law, bankruptcy law and ERISA.
In law school, Ebbink founded the Employment/Labor Law Society and served as a law clerk for the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing. He received his J.D. in 2000 and his B.A. in 1997 from the University of California, Davis.
