In an interview with the Denver Business Journal, Mike Greco offers insights on the passage of Colorado House Bill 1317, which would restrict employers from using non-compete agreements for workers making less than $101,250 a year. The article notes that the bill passed with an important amendment allowing employers to use customer non-solicitation agreements with those earning sixty percent of the highly compensated employee threshold (i.e., $60,750).
Mike tells the Denver Business Journal that employers can avoid the $5,000-per-worker penalty for violations by eliminating new one-size fits all restrictive covenants and carefully analyzing their existing agreements.
