Dallas Breakfast Academy – Employment Law Updates
Event
9.16.15
Because there are several important regulatory changes and new federal agency enforcement initiatives in the works right now but not yet finalized, or sufficiently well-defined, we are transforming our annual summer lunch and learn series into ONE intense morning briefing in September (with breakfast, of course) when we will have more information to fully arm you with the most up-to-date developments in workplace rights.
This interactive Breakfast Academy will help you effectively manage employment-related issues and reduce the likelihood that a process server will invite you to the courthouse. You will hear and see how seemingly minor situations can easily become excruciating and expensive legal proceedings, including jury trials. This training will benefit chief executive officers, chief operating officers, human resources professionals and in-house counsel with labor and employment responsibility. Ask all the questions you may have while attending the program—our experienced attorneys will be there to give you the information you need!

Employment Law Updates
With a flurry of new regulations and enforcement initiatives, the DOL, OSHA, NLRB and EEOC are pushing into surprising new frontiers – dramatic increases in minimum wage, revamped “white collar” overtime pay exemptions, aggressive enforcement, new recordkeeping requirements, and evolving concepts of discrimination and other workplace rights.
9:45 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Break
10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Making Difficult Employment Decisions with Reduced Risk
We will provide you with the latest information and best practices to ensure your workplace decisions are N.E.A.T. and C.L.E.A.N. These tools will help you make defensible and practical decisions concerning discipline, documentation, and termination. Effective performance management and investigation of employee claims can significantly reduce your company’s exposure to costly litigation.
