There are many preventive measures employers can take to safeguard against the coronavirus, but when implementing such measures employers need to be cautious of legal ramifications. In a discussion with Law360, partner Howard Mavity explained that the implementation of preventative measures can trigger employment laws like the Americans with Disabilities Act and the National Labor Relations Act. He also cautions that communication is a key part of the process and that it is important for employers to keep employees in the loop ahead of a health emergency to help stave off problems down the road.
