In his article for PEO Insider, John Polson predicts that the Biden administration coupled with the continued threat of COVID will bring a new series of hurdles concerning workplace safety and labor relations in 2021. He suggests that the Biden administration will likely push OSHA to increase the number of safety inspectors and increase penalties for non-compliance in the workplace. John also says that employers can expect a return to a pro-labor agenda like that of the NLRB under the Obama administration. Finally, with these changes and the ongoing pandemic, he says that PEOs will be forced to consider to what extent they will provide compliance assistance to clients rather than taking a more hands-off approach.
