In an interview with Law360, Charles Caulkins shares his insights on Florida's Local Business Protection Act, a proposed bill that would enable businesses to sue municipalities over local requirements for minimum wage and other policies. Charles explains that the legislation will allow local businesses to pursue legal action against local governments, but it does come with its challenges. There are procedural steps built into the legislation which may prevent employers from bringing litigation. He says: “You can't just walk into court and sue for money damages. There are a lot of exclusions and a lot of hoops to follow through."
