Brett Owens Earns Florida Bar Board Certification in Labor & Employment Law

Brett Owens, partner in Fisher Phillips’ Tampa office, is the latest Fisher Phillips attorney to be Board Certified in Labor & Employment Law by The Florida Bar. Brett joins Jeffrey Mandel and Benton Wood, two Orlando-based partners, who have also who have achieved this Board Certification with the state bar’s organization.
In Florida, only 169 lawyers are currently recognized as Board Certified Specialists in Labor & Employment Law by The Florida Bar. The purpose of the certification is to identify those lawyers who practice labor and employment law and who have demonstrated special knowledge, skills, and proficiency to be properly identified to the public as board certified in labor and employment law. To achieve this certification, lawyers must meet specific requirements, including a minimum of five years of practicing law, at least 50% of their practice is dedicated to employment and labor law, at least 60 hours of approved labor and employment law certification continuing legal education, peer review, a thorough written application, a passing score on a written examination, and more.
