In an article published in McKnight’s Senior Living, Steven Bernstein and Joshua Viau are quoted for their insight on the NLRB’s controversial standard that gives unions more leeway to organize micro units. They explain that this decision is significant “because it could help organized labor establish footholds in businesses where only a small group of employees are seeking union representation.”
They also noted that this could mean that departments within the overall operation may be able to organize regardless of their level of integration with the overall workforce.
