Attorneys Provide Tips to Prepare Attorneys for Salary Transparency Laws in California and Washington

In an interview with Time Magazine, Melissa Camire and Ben Ebbink share their insights on how employers can best prepare for California and Washington’s new pay transparency laws.

Melissa explains that employers operating in multiple states, including those employing remote workers who could reasonably do their job in multiple jurisdictions, will have to parse the differing requirements between states and localities.

Ben urges employers to craft job postings that comply with the most stringent laws. "The approach is to write to the most restrictive requirement and make that your standard. That way, all postings will be compliant with other jurisdictions that don’t necessarily require that much," he advised.
