Atlanta Partner Discusses the U.S. Department of Labor’s Proposed Changes to AEWR

News

8.10.22

Marty Heller joined Grower Talks Podcast to discuss the proposed changes to AEWR (Adverse Effect Wage Rate) by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) and the potential impact the proposed changes may have on wages in the agriculture industry. He explains that the DOL issued the final rule changing H-2A regulations, but in December 2020 they were sued by United Farm Workers (UFW).  Today, the DOL has issued a new proposed rule in light of the litigation over the past few years, and employers should watch for those rules to be finalized. Marty continues the interview by breaking down the key takeaways of the new proposed rule.
