Many states have raised their minimum wage, and employers in those states need to be aware of the increase to stay in compliance with the new rates. In a conversation with SHRM, Franklin Wolf adds that employers must also be aware of any changes in salaries for certain exempt employees. Franklin goes on to explain that “[o]n the federal level employers need to be aware of various changes to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).” He explains what the new FLSA rule requires and what it will take for employers to be in compliance.
