Fisher Phillips was at the top of my list.
I had been practicing employment litigation, primarily on the plaintiff’s side. After taking some time off to be home with my two young kids, I realized I was ready to return to practice, and I knew I wanted to transition to the management side. I litigated against Fisher Phillips many times over the years and always admired the professionalism and quality of the work. When an opportunity opened here, the timing felt just right.
Everyone I met had been here for years.
During the interview process, I met with attorneys across the Wage and Hour group and the Houston office. What stood out immediately was that nearly everyone I spoke with had been at the firm for eight or nine years. That told me a lot. It showed that people felt supported, valued, and invested in long term. It gave me confidence that this was a place where I could build a career.
They made day one feel easy.
My onboarding experience exceeded expectations. From a welcome breakfast on my first day to structured training and clear guidance on systems and resources, everything was well organized. What mattered most was how intentional the firm was about making me feel part of the team immediately. With so many people willing to help, the transition felt seamless.
I was able to jump right into the deep end.
I was hired primarily to support the Wage and Hour practice, especially class and collective actions. From the start, my experience was recognized and respected. I quickly became part of national teams across offices, handling complex matters and collaborating with attorneys around the firm. I’ve also had opportunities to broaden my practice, including advising clients proactively – not just responding to litigation.
I decided to bet on myself – and the move paid off.
One of the reasons I left my prior firm was that I felt stalled. Joining Fisher Phillips gave me the opportunity to move forward. Shortly after joining, I was named partner. It was incredibly humbling and affirmed that the firm recognizes experience, leadership, and results. Being trusted at that level – and mentoring younger attorneys – has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career.
Collaborative is the word that defines this place.
If I had to describe the culture at Fisher Phillips in one word, it would be collaborative. There are no egos, just people focused on helping clients and supporting each other. The firm is growing quickly, expanding into new industries and practice areas, and building something special. Being part of that growth, with the support to thrive, makes this the best career decision I’ve ever made.
