JonVieve D. Hill
JonVieve Hill is a litigation attorney dedicated to counseling and defending companies in all types of employment and labor law matters. She has a record of successfully litigating cases in state and federal courts across the country, as well as in private arbitration and before administrative agencies. Although JonVieve specializes her practice on the defense of class and collective actions involving claims of state and federal wage and hour law violations, she also defends employers against claims that arise under state and federal statutes including Title VII, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act. Additionally, JonVieve represents employers in traditional labor matters including defending against unfair labor practice charges and navigating grievances and arbitrations.
Prior to attending law school, JonVieve earned her master’s in business administration. She regularly utilizes her business knowledge and experiences, in addition to her legal expertise, to help devise practical solutions for companies that help minimize legal risks without losing sight of the client’s business, operational considerations and corporate culture. As a member of the Firm’s Dealership and Manufacturing Practice Groups, JonVieve regularly provides guidance to auto dealers and manufacturers, as well as employers across industries, to prevent potential workplace disputes. JonVieve drafts employee handbooks, arbitration agreements, severance agreements, confidentiality agreements, and non-compete and non-solicitation agreements. She also conducts employment and wage-hour assessments for clients to ensure that they continue to comply with changing laws and regulations.
JonVieve is the current Co-Chair of the Labor & Employment Section of the State Bar of Georgia’s Young Lawyers Division (“YLD”). She is a member of the Class of 2021 YLD Leadership Academy. JonVieve also graduated in 2019 as a mentee in the State Bar of Georgia Labor & Employment Mentorship Academy.
While attending law school, JonVieve joined the Military Spouse JD Network (“MSJDN”), a group dedicated to reducing licensing and employment barriers for military spouse attorneys. As the spouse of an Army Major, JonVieve is deeply committed to issues that impact military members and their families. In 2014, she authored an article that was published in the Louisville Bar Association’s Bar Briefs and helped bring military spouse licensing barrier issues to the attention of the Kentucky Supreme Court. JonVieve and fellow MSJDN members continued to advocate for a change in Kentucky’s licensing laws until the Kentucky Supreme Court enacted Rule 2.113 on January 1, 2016, creating a licensing accommodation for military spouse attorneys in the state.
JonVieve resides in Dunwoody with her husband, Charley, and their two young daughters, Genevieve and Jayne Marie. One of her claims to fame in the Firm’s Atlanta office is winning the Fisher Phillips Fantasy Football League Championship in back to back seasons. She remains undefeated to this day. When not at work, JonVieve can be found chasing after her children at Brook Run Park on Saturday mornings. JonVieve also enjoys beach vacations to any spot along 30A and cheering for the Georgia Bulldawgs.
