Cheryl Schreck is a partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office.  Ms. Schreck has over 30 years of experience representing employers in all aspects of labor and employment law. She regularly defends employers in state and federal courts and administrative agencies against claims of wrongful discharge, employment discrimination, harassment and retaliation, and violations of whistleblower statutes and/or wage and hour laws.  She has represented clients in arbitration, mediation, and administrative agency proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Fair Employment and Housing, Department of Labor, and Division of Labor Standards Enforcement. 

Cheryl also advises and counsels employers on the full range of employment issues including discipline and discharge, management of leaves of absence, reasonable accommodation obligations and strategies, wage and hour compliance, layoffs, severance pay and policies, and litigation avoidance. She has conducted numerous high-level investigations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, employee misconduct and other employment-related claims, and has advised employers on appropriate discipline and effective resolution strategies to remedy issues identified in these investigations. 

Cheryl creates specifically-tailored employee handbooks and/or personnel policies and procedures for employers and revises and updates existing policies and handbooks.  She also conducts comprehensive wage and hour audits. 

Additionally, Cheryl trains managers/supervisors on discrimination, harassment and retaliation compliance, leaves of absence issues, and reasonable accommodation/interactive process obligations.
