Mexico: Minimum Wage Increases

Mexican workers earning at the minimum wage level will enjoy a 10% pay increase effective December 2017. The minimum wage in Mexico will rise from approximately 80.04 pesos (4.28 USD) to 88.36 pesos (4.73 USD) per day.

As a reminder, Mexican law provides workers with a 13th month bonus which must be paid by December 20. And, international employers should always obtain a signed receipt from workers in respect of payment of wages and bonuses in case of dispute.

Fisher Phillips’ International Practice Group counsels employers looking to establish operations in Mexico, and those who already have a presence there.
