Fisher Phillips’ Michael Abcarian Inducted as a Fellow in The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers

DALLAS (June 25, 2018) – Michael V. Abcarian, managing partner of the Denver office, has been elected as a new Fellow in The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. Election as a Fellow is the highest recognition by an attorney’s colleagues of sustained outstanding performance in the profession, exemplifying integrity, dedication and excellence.
For more than 30 years, Mike has represented Fortune 500 corporations, units of local government and local business interests in labor and employment matters. He has handled hundreds of lawsuits in federal and state courts with an exceptional success record, including lead counsel defense of complex litigation and nationwide class actions.
Mike also handles complex workplace safety matters and has represented employers in high-visibility proceedings before the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. He also appears frequently before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, defending employers in discrimination matters, and represents employers before the National Labor Relations Board.
The 23rd installation of Fellows will be held November 10, 2018, in San Francisco, coincident with the American Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section’s Continuing Legal Education Conference. With the current installation, the College is represented by more than 1,400 members in 46 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and eight Canadian Provinces.

The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers was the vision of a number of the Fellows. The idea was to further establish this profession in all its aspects as one uniquely important to the world of labor and employment law, individual rights, collective bargaining and dispute resolution. The College was established in 1995 through an initiative of the Council of The Section of Labor and Employment Law of the American Bar Association. It operates as a free-standing organization, recognizing those who, by long and outstanding service, have distinguished themselves as leaders in the field.
