What Will the Legislature Do This Year?

Several pieces of employment legislation are pending in the California Legislature this year. They include:

  • Prohibition on employers voluntarily cooperating with immigration enforcement actions (AB 450)
  • Statewide “Ban the Box” (AB 1008)
  • Prohibition against asking job applicants about salary history (AB 168)
  • Increase in the overtime exemption salary threshold (AB 1565)
  • Expanded harassment training to include gender and sexual orientation (SB 396)
  • New parent leave (SB 63)
