Devin explains that an employer should engage in a good-faith exchange of information to explore the disabled employee’s need for accommodation to establish trust and an open line of communication.
Additionally, Devin says, “The employer should have a clear understanding of the essential functions of the employee’s position,” as a written job description can be used as evidence of what the employer considers essential functions of the job.
