New Attorney Brings Additional Title IX Experience to Fisher Phillips Office in Cleveland
Cleveland, Ohio (Jan. 18, 2019) – Fisher Phillips today announced that Lauren Tompkins has joined its Cleveland office as an associate.
Tompkins also is a Title IX investigator who serves as a neutral party to investigate complaints of sex-based discrimination and sexual misconduct in educational institutions and provides a detailed, unbiased report regarding the investigation’s findings. Her experience further bolsters the capabilities of the firm’s Higher Education practice group.
Tompkins has eight years of experience representing employers. She is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, where she is chair of the Labor and Employment Section and the Annual Labor and Employment Conference. She also is a member of the Cleveland Employment Inns of Court and has been selected for inclusion in Ohio Super Lawyers – “Rising Star” every year since 2017. Tompkins also volunteers for the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland.
Prior to joining Fisher Phillips, Tompkins handled general business litigation, employment litigation and employment consulting for another Cleveland law firm. She was a judicial extern for the Honorable Patricia A. Gaughan in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio and an extern for the United States Attorney’s Office in the Northern District of Ohio. She earned her law degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and her undergraduate degree from College of Wooster.
