Fisher Phillips Partner Named to Georgia Trend "Legal Elite"
ATLANTA, GA (December 6, 2010) - Fisher Phillips Partner Tex McIver has been selected by his peers for inclusion in the Georgia Trend "Legal Elite" for 2010. Georgia Trend magazine polls attorneys across the state to recognize attorneys in nine practice areas. McIver was recognized for his labor and employment practice.
During his 40 year career, McIver has assisted clients in their compliance efforts involving federal and state employment laws. He advises employers on mergers and acquisitions and streamlining of organizations. He has successfully defended employers in numerous union organizing campaigns, and he regularly handles contract negotiations, arbitrations, defense of corporate campaigns and the full range of strikes, lockouts and other interruptions of work. McIver has written widely on employment law subjects and spoken to hundreds of organizations concerning employment law and legislative issues.
His numerous honors include listings in Georgia Super Lawyers, Chambers USA, America's Leading Business Lawyers and The Best Lawyers in America.
McIver was appointed to the Judicial Nominating Commission by Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue in 2005. The Georgia Senate appointed him to the five-member State Election Board, where he was elected Vice Chair in 2006. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce.
McIver earned his law degree at The University of Texas School of Law and his B.B.A. at Texas Christian University.
