Fisher Phillips Partner and Appellate Counsel Wendy McGuire Coats Appointed to Contra Costa County Superior Court Bench
SAN FRANCISCO (Dec. 12, 2018) – Fisher Phillips is pleased to announce that Partner and Appellate Counsel Wendy McGuire Coats has been appointed by California Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. to serve as a Superior Court Judge in Contra Costa County.
Wendy was among 13 appointees selected to serve in trial court positions across California. She fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Barry P. Goode.
Based in the firm’s San Francisco office, Wendy joined the firm in 2016 and led the firm’s California Appellate Practice. She is a certified specialist in Appellate Law by the California Board of Legal Specialization and has served as the 2018 President-Elect of the Contra Costa County Bar Association.

Wendy received her J.D., magna cum laude, from the Pepperdine University School of Law (2005), where she was Editor-in-Chief of the Pepperdine Law Review, and her B.S. Ed., magna cum laude, from the University of Missouri – Columbia (1996).
