Fisher Phillips Announces New COO
Atlanta, Georgia - April 18, 2016 – Fisher Phillips, the management-side labor and employment law firm, announces that Steve M. Mauro is the firm’s new Chief Operating Officer effective today. Mauro joins Fisher Phillips after stints as COO at Drinker Biddle & Reath, LLP in Philadelphia, Executive Director at Day Pitney LLP in New York City, and COO at Thompson Hine LLP in Cleveland. Mauro replaces Mark F. Noonan, who is retiring after 16 years with the firm.

During 14 years at law firms Mauro has been instrumental in several successes, including: helping a firm enter the BTI Top 30 service firms; leading a client service excellence initiative for lawyers and staff; improving client satisfaction scores by 25%; increasing the “win rate” for responses to Requests for Proposals; introducing a robust professional development program; increasing staff satisfaction; and upgrading technology.
Before his legal career, Mauro was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Fidelity Tax-Exempt Retirement Services in Boston and CFO at Powell Electronics in Philadelphia. He earned his law degree at Widener University School of Law in Chester, Pennsylvania, his MBA from Villanova University, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in accounting from Boston College. Mauro is a Certified Public Accountant.
Noonan was the CFO at Fisher Phillips from 2000-2009 when he was promoted to COO. He has been at the helm of the firm’s management team during a period when Fisher Phillips grew from 20 offices and 220 attorneys to 33 offices and more than 350 attorneys today. Before joining Fisher Phillips, Noonan had a long career with Aetna, Inc. in Hartford, Connecticut.

Quillen noted that Noonan will be available on a consulting basis for several months to help with a smooth transition.
