Denisha McKenzie of Fisher Phillips Elected Vice President of Thurgood Marshall Bar Association

Further Recognition of Commitment to Community Service and Advancement of Justice

IRVINE, CA (January 14, 2016) – Fisher Phillips announces Associate Denisha McKenzie has been elected Vice President of the Thurgood Marshall Bar Association. The organization, an affiliate of the Orange County Bar Association, is a contemporary bar association committed to diversity, professional improvement and the advancement of justice through positive community involvement and excellence in the practice of law.

McKenzie is an associate in the Irvine office, where she represents and counsels employers in all areas of labor and employment law in state and federal courts, as well as before state and federal agencies. She focuses a significant portion of her practice on discrimination, retaliation and wrongful termination cases.

The Thurgood Marshall Bar Association was conceived and formed by a diverse group of attorneys practicing law in Orange County, California. The organization emphasizes excellence and integrity in the practice of law, increased diversity, multi-culturalism and community service.

Committed to service and providing her community access to legal services, McKenzie previously co-founded the Orange County Human Rights Association; was one of the first student co-authors of the inaugural edition of the UC Irvine Law Review; and received the distinction of Pro Bono honors upon graduation for completing over 120 hours of pro bono legal work in law school. In 2015, she was presented the “Everyday Hero” Award from the Orange County Women Lawyers Association for her for legal work in the local community.
