Bloomberg Law Turns to Fisher Phillips for Insight on DC’s New Non-Compete Ban
In an interview with Bloomberg Law, Risa Boerner, chair of Fisher Phillips’ Data Security and Workplace Privacy practice, provides insight on Washington, D.C.’s newly passed near-total ban on the use of non-compete agreements. The new law goes beyond some of the country’s most restrictive laws by banning all employee non-competes, with an exception for doctors who make more than $250,000 annually. Risa explains that tough restrictions against using non-competes make it more difficult for employers to protect trade secrets, confidential company and customer relationships. This new law will make it harder to know if someone is sharing confidential information.
