Title IX Sexual Assault & Harassment Training Webinar for Louisiana K-12 Schools
Please join Fisher Phillips’ Education Practice Group on Thursday September 8, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Central Time, as we provide annual training on significant regulatory and case law developments regarding K-12 Title IX obligations and, in particular, institutional obligations with respect to student-on-student sex assault and transgender students.
This webinar will discuss:
- What Every Louisiana K-12 Administrator Needs to Know about Title IX - this will provide an explanation of what Title IX is and how it applies to K-12 schools. It will also provide information about recent Title IX guidance documents on transgender students and student-on-student sex assault as well as Title IX compliance reviews conducted by the Office of Civil Rights. Finally, it will discuss K-12 Title IX litigation both nationally and in Louisiana.
- How to Apply What You Know – now that you understand the law, this segment will focus on practical steps you should take to comply with the law. It will discuss best practices in policies and offer insights on the steps you should take when put on notice of an incident impacting Title IX.
The webinar will be given by Scott Schneider. Scott is a partner in the New Orleans and Houston offices of Fisher Phillips, a national expert on Title IX compliance, and instructor at Tulane Law School.
