Grant Wills is an associate in the firm’s Columbia office representing employers in a variety of labor and employment matters.
Grant currently works on matters involving worker misclassification, non-compete and restrictive covenants, discrimination and retaliation claims, and alternative dispute resolution.
Prior to attending law school, Grant gained legislative and regulatory-compliance experience working for the U.S. Senate as a Senate Page and as an intern for the Federal Communications Commission in Washington D.C. Before joining the firm, Grant also developed a unique perspective into class actions and trial strategy while working for one of the largest American plaintiffs’ litigation firms.
During law school, Grant worked as an employment law research assistant, focusing on mandatory arbitration agreements and growing misclassification issues in the gig economy.
Grant was Associate Editor-in-Chief of the South Carolina Law Review. Grant is the author of “To Be or Not to Airbnb: Regulation of Short Term Rentals in South Carolina,” 68 S.C. L. Rev. 821 (2017). Grant’s article was selected as the publication’s most outstanding work and he received the Victor A. Michalewitz Award for Excellence in Legal Writing. Grant was also inducted into the Order of the Wig and Robe. For his scholarship in labor and employment law, Grant received the Robert W. Foster, Sr. Alternative Dispute Resolution Scholarship and earned CALI Awards in Labor Law, Individual Employment Law, and ADR in Employment Law.
